Apparently the organizers of Coachella are trying to negotiate a date for rock legend and all around chameleon, David Bowie to perform at the 2009 Coachella Festival. Having been on hiatus since 2004, Ziggy Stardust, only 8 years away from a whopping 70 years of age, is working on an album in Berlin.

Coachella head honchos attempted to get Bowie to play last year- he refused and they got Prince instead. With a recruit like that, Bowie is sure to take the bait this year right? Rumor has it that Bowie may be willing to resurrect the live set from The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars in it’s entirety.

Now Bowie isn’t getting any younger, and if you’re planning on going to Coachella in 2009, you might want to grab your Coachella tickets now, because true Bowie fans will grab up the entire stock of Coachella tickets in anticipation of his androgynous alter ego – so keep checking back for more info!
